Curiosity brought me here. If you’re reading these lines, you’re in the same case. I discovered this band from New York on a famous music platform which one I will shut the name. Well, Stone Cold Fox began to make music two years ago and still unsigned. If it’s turns out unbelivable, as far as I am concerned I am starting to fancy them. What about you ?
Kevin, the charming lead singer of the band agreed answering my issues. You’re welcome into their marvellous music stained by pop and rock on a ground of indie music.
Do you still have a good memory of your first show ?
Yes of course ! Our first show was at a place called Pete’s Candy Shop. It was a small venue with a stage the size of walk in closet. Maddie (female vocalist on « the young ») sang on a few songs that night so all total we had six people crammed up there. No one could move much, which was probably for the better because we were all too concerned with not fucking up. I wouldn’t call it our greatest moment, but I will say I’ll never forget it.
Oui je m’en rappelle ! On a joué notre premier concert dans un lieu qui s’appelle Pete’s Candy Shop. C’était un petit passage sur une scène qui avait la taille d’un placard. Maddie, notre chanteuse, jouait avec nous ce soir-là, au total il devait y avoir 6 personnes entassées sur notre premier concert ! Personne ne pouvait avancer plus, ce qui était probablement mieux comme ça parce qu’on était tous préoccupés à l’idée de ne pas se foirer. Je ne dirais pas que ça a été notre meilleur concert mais il est certain que je ne l’oublierai jamais.

On your facebook wall, we can see you are « unsigned », it’s still actual ?
Yes, we are still flying solo. We are currently working on a 12 song album and hopefully by the time that is done we will find someone to put it out.
Oui, on joue encore en solitaires. On est actuellement en train de travailleur sur un 12 titres et on espère avec de la chance et du temps, trouver quelqu’un qui nous aidera à le promouvoir pus largement.
It really goes all over, I’m very influenced by vocalist so I’ve gravitated towards bands like Radiohead, The Walkmen, Beach House, Tame Impala but the rest of the band draws from all sorts of spectrums from jazz and blues to metal.
Il y en a vraiment pour tout. J’ai été attiré par le chant dès le départ donc j’ai longtemps écouté des groupes du genre Radiohead, The Walkmen, Beach House, Tampe Impala… mais le reste du groupe écoute des choses vraiment différentes, ça va du jazz en passant par le blues jusqu’au métal.
If you could make a cover of an artist between Arcade Fire, MGMT or Arctic Monkeys, what would it be ? Why ?
Neighborhood #2 by Arcade fire. Funeral as a whole had such a deep impact on my musical development, I just remember dancing like a maniac to that one all the time.
La deuxième partie de la chanson Neighborhood d’Arcade Fire. Funeral a eu un gros impact sur ma façon d’écouter la musique et de la composer. Je me revois en train de danser comme un fou sur cette chanson pendant un long moment.
Honestly it’s a huge toss up because half the band are studio engineers so it’s a huge part of who we are as a band. But for me when it comes down to it nothing beats playing live.
Does a country of Europe already asked you to come making concerts here ?
No one yet, but hopefully in a year or so we’ll be able to tour that far and make our way over !
Pas encore, mais on espère l’année prochaine ! Il faut qu’on soit capables d’assumer une tournée, mais dans tous les cas on en fera une hors Amérique.

Your next EP/album is planned for some moment of the year or 2014 ?
Hopefully it will be out and distributed in spring of 2014, figures crossed.
Avec de la chance ça sera dans les bacs le printemps prochain, en 2014. On croise les doigts.
